How We Pack 201 Stainless Steel Sheet & Coil
In GHT, all of our stainless steel coils are packaged as per international standard to prevent any possible damage or loss. By default, for quantity less than 1 whole compete coil (our MOQ is 5 tons), we will use woven plastic bag to cover SS coils and then fix them upon wooden pallet for further protection. We can also package the SS coils as per your special requirement, though this can incur extra cost.
In GHT, all of our stainless steel sheets are packaged as per international standard to prevent any possible damage or loss. By default, we will use brown paper to cover SS sheets and then bundle them together onto wooden pallets. At times, upon some customers’ requests, we will also apply reinforced package with extra metal straps fixed on the four corners, though this can incur extra cost. For enhanced customer experience, we also accept customized package as per your requests.

Impact of Nickel on 201 Stainless Steel
Nickel plays a crucial role in defining the mechanical properties of 201 stainless steel by affecting its austenite stability:
1. As nickel content rises within a certain range in 201 stainless steel, there’s a noticeable decrease in strength but an increase in plasticity due to reduced martensitic transformation potential.
2. With a stable austenitic structure, 201 stainless steel exhibits outstanding toughness, even at very low temperatures, making it suitable for cold climate applications. The addition of nickel enhances this toughness further, especially in chromium-manganese austenitic steels.
3. Nickel also mitigates the cold work hardening effect in 201 stainless steel by stabilizing the austenite structure. This stability decreases the likelihood of martensitic transformation during cold working and lessens the austenite’s inherent hardening response, facilitating better cold forming capabilities.
4. Furthermore, nickel significantly boosts the hot workability of 201 stainless steel, leading to improved steel yield during processing.

Why is 201 Stainless Steel Not Recommended for Tableware？
201 stainless steel, while versatile, is not ideal for tableware due to its high manganese (Mn) content. During contact with food, especially when heated, harmful elemental ions may leach, posing health risks.
Additionally, as a low-nickel alloy, 201 stainless steel’s corrosion resistance is comparatively weaker, making it prone to rusting. Tableware frequently encounters water, oil, and salt, conditions under which 201 stainless steel’s durability is compromised.
In contrast, tableware is typically crafted from 304 stainless steel, a high-nickel alloy celebrated for its robust anti-corrosion and rust-resistant qualities, ensuring safety and longevity in diverse dining environments.
